Employment procedure at the Faculty (when a competition is required)

  1. An application to the Rector for permission to start a competition with an indication of the position and source of funds. Application is sent via the official route.
  2. The Rector agrees.
  3. Preparation of the competition conditions (in Polish and English version, should be sent to the head of the dean’s office) – requirements as to the candidates (also defined by the terms of the grant) and documents submitted. The Human Resources Department requires:
    application (to Rector, Prof. A. Tretyn):

    • personal questionnaire for the person applying for employment
    • professional resume
    • copies of diplomas (graduate, doctoral and habilitation – depending on the position),
    • information about scientific, didactic and organizational achievements (self-review of the most important research areas, as well as scientific, didactic and other achievements)
    • a list of publications (including publishing, publication year and number of pages)
    • a declaration pursuant to art. 109 para. 1 of the Law on Higher Education (on no criminal record)
    • a statement stating that the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń will be the primary place of work – if you win the competition
    • a statement of consent to the processing of personal data included in the job offer for the purposes of the recruitment process, in accordance with the Act of August 29, 1997. on the protection of personal data (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2014, item 1182))
  4. Announcement (by the Dean) of the competition on the websites of NCU, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Euraxess and other places specified by the project or financing institution (here the correctness of the announcement procedure, dates, place and conditions must be taken care of by the project manager).
  5. Convening by the Dean (in the case of competitions for employment with grants in consultation with the grant manager) of the competition commission, which resolves the competition and presents the recommendations of the teacher commission.
  6. The matter of employment after the competition is considered by the teacher’s commission, and then the opinions are issued by the Unit Council and the Faculty Council.
  7. Preparation (dean’s office and project manager) of the application for employment of the candidate and transferring it to the Human Resources Department. Before employment, the candidate OBLIGATORILY takes health and safety training and undergoes medical examinations.
  8. Signature of the contract prepared by the Human Resources Department.

Please read carefully the employment regulations in force in the grant. Each financing institution (Ministry of Science and Higher Education, NCN, NCBiR, FNP, etc.) has its own regulations in this area. We use them simultaneously with the procedure described above.
